Case Handover

LOSPOR allows you to transfer a case to a colleague within the same institution — for example, when a shift changes and a different anaesthesiologist takes over a case.

Sending a handover

  1. On the dashboard, find the case you want to hand over
  2. Click the Hand over button (person icon) on the right side of the case row
  3. A dropdown appears listing your colleagues at the same institution
  4. Search for the colleague's name and select them
  5. Click Send request

The case row will show an Awaiting acceptance badge while the request is pending.

Members must accept

When a regular member (non-HOD) sends a handover, the recipient must accept it before the case transfers. The recipient sees a notification on their dashboard.

Receiving a handover

When a colleague sends you a case, a yellow Pending handovers banner appears at the top of your dashboard.

Each pending handover shows:

  • The procedure name and diagnosis
  • The name of the colleague sending it
  • The case code

You can Accept or Decline each one:

  • Accept — the case transfers to your account immediately. It disappears from the sender's dashboard and appears in yours.
  • Decline — the request is cancelled. The case stays with the original owner.

Head of Department assignment

Heads of department can assign cases to any member of the institution instantly, without requiring the recipient's acceptance.

  1. On the dashboard, click Hand over / Assign on any case visible in the institution list
  2. Select the target colleague
  3. Click Assign now

The case transfers immediately.

After transfer

Once a case is transferred:

  • The original owner loses access to the case
  • The new owner can continue filling in the forms or view the completed case
  • The transfer is logged internally for audit purposes

The case can be further handed over to another colleague by the new owner.
